Waskesiu offers a wide variety of activites
for all ages. PANP established in 1927 encompasses
over 3,800 square kilometres.
The Outdoors
Hiking is a popular
activity of visitors of the park. There are over
150km of maintained trails offering a variety
of hikes of differing difficulty. There are short
walks, day-long and overnight hikes. The most
famous of these hikes being the Grey Owl Trail.
Fishing is
another favourite of Waskesiu visitors. Note:
A National Park fishing permit is required to
fish in park waters. Permits and regulations are
available from the Visitor Reception Centre, park
gate kiosks, campground kiosks, and marinas.
Beaches. There
are 7 beaches along the shores of Waskesiu offering
a relaxing atmosphere for a day in the sun.
Other outdoor activities
include cycling,
lawn bowling,
tennis -
6 courts, playing baseball
at the full sized diamond,
biking,
basketball and
horseshoes.
Winter activities include
cross-country skiing,
snoeshoeing,
hiking ,
ice fishing and
camping.
